The Department of Education is transforming the learning environment through harnessing sustainability for student success. Extending across all 256 DOE school sites, the Ka Hei program brings our educators teaching resources to power progress in the classroom. Ka Hei’s ability to lower energy expenses and incorporate a sustainability program improves the learning environment so that students and teachers can perform at their best. Ka Hei aligns the facilities work to existing initiatives of the DOE to create an interactive learning platform that joins STEM and sustainability. Supporting the goals of the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative and the DOE’s goal of 90 percent clean energy by 2040, Ka Hei brings widespread educational opportunities.
